NCAA Game Summary - V-M-I Vs. Dartmouth

(Sports Network) - DeVon Mosley tallied a game-high 23 points, leading five players in double figures as the Dartmouth Big Green captured a 98-87 win over the Keydets of VMI in the second round of the Air Force Classic at Clune Arena.

Alex Barnett had a huge game for Dartmouth (1-1) with 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, while Michael Giovacchini contributed 11 points and a game-high eight assists. Elgin Fitzgerald and Robbie Pride came off the bench to chip in 11 and 10 points, respectively.

The Keydets (0-2) were paced by Travis Holmes who dropped in 18 points on a perfect 10-of-10 effort at the free-throw line. Reggie Williams, the leading scorer in the nation last year, came off the bench to register his 19 points and six boards. Before fouling out Willie Bell tallied 16 points and seven rebounds, while Chavis Holmes and Christian Hunter registered 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Shooting a healthy 51.5 percent from the field in the first half, the Big Green marched out to a 45-39 advantage at the break.

In the second half Dartmouth shot the ball even better, knocking down 52.6 percent from the floor, en route to the nine-point win.

The Big Green managed to overcome 19 turnovers and being outscored at the free- throw line, 26-18, by winning the battle of the boards, 50-37.
