NCAA Game Summary - Detroit At Western Michigan

Kalamazoo, MI -- (Sports Network) - Shawntes Gary tallied 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to a 71-58 win over the Detroit Titans in non-conference action at University Arena. David Kool also added 16 points for the Broncos (1-3), while Donald Lawson checked in with 10 points in the victory. The Titans (0-2) were paced by Xavier Keeling and Donavan Foster, who each scored 12 points in the loss. Detroit got off to a fast start, shooting 40.9 percent from the field in the first half, to take a 29-27 lead at the break. WMU stormed back in the second stanza, shooting an incredible 27-of-34 from the free-throw line, en route to a 13-point victory. The Broncos were stifling on defense, converting 17 Detroit turnovers into 19 points.
