Robert Morris Names New Athletic Director

Tuesday, February 15, 2005

Robert Morris University named Dr. Craig Coleman its new director of athletics on Tuesday.

Coleman, 47, who has served as the university's softball coach for 14 years, begins his new duties May 1. He is replacing the late Susan K. Hofacre, who passed away earlier this year.

Under Coleman's direction, the Colonials have captured five Northeast Conference tournament titles and two regular-season championships.

"As the longest tenured coach at Robert Morris University, Craig has proven with his softball teams what it means to have a consistent and successful program both on the field and in the classroom," university president Dr. Edward A. Nicholson said. "His successful record will be an asset as he takes over as our new athletic director."
