This episode of WHIO Reports deals with teenagers and sexually transmitted diseases (STD).
The guests discuss how bad the statistics are on teenagers having sex and the ones who end up getting STD or the HIV virus from having sex. They also talk about how teenagers and their parents can get help from the Miami Valley Aids Resource Center or any type of disease resource center across the country.
The two guests mention that the Miami Valley center helps educate anyone of any age on sex and the risks that come with having sex, by educating that person or persons and if someone does have a disease, the center will help the financially by helping pay for treatment and medications or anything else that person(s) may need. Also mentioned is that there are 16,600 people in the Miami Valley with AIDS and that is costing them $970 million to treat the virus.
