Community Needs

Dayton Dunbar Wolverines Pee Wee Football & Cheerleading

This organization is looking for boys and girls ages 5 to 14 to participate in the yougt athletics and scholarship program.
They are also looking for coaches or anyone interested in helping out to mold and mentor young minds.
Mission Statement:
Dayton Dunbar Wolverines Pee Wee Football is a not-for-profit association created to facilitate and coordinate the Recreation Athletic Football and Cheerleading Programs, in the Dayton Ohio Community, for girls and boys.
The goal of the Dayton Dunbar Wolverines are to:
  • encourage participation in recreational sports programs regardless of skill level
  • ensure our children have a fun experience
  • provide the opportunity to learn and improve skills
  • teach sportsmanship by good example
  • develop an appreciation of teamwork
  • promote respect of teammates, coaches, opponents, and game officials
  • encourage participation of parents in the coaching and coordination of the various programs

Cancer touches us physically, emotionally and spiritually. A positive outlook goes a long way in our healing, but many female cancer patients struggle with the change in their appearance. The American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program helps restore women's appearance and self-esteem.

By donating your old cell phone to Artemis Center, you can save a life. As a way to assert control, abusers often deny cell phone access to their partners. With the help of Verizon’s HopeLine program, victims of domestic violence receive refurbished cell phones to be used as 911 emergency phones. These phones are critical to the safety of Artemis Center’s clients. Used cell phones can be dropped off at Artemis Center Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
