Revisions to Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland’s school funding plan were revealed on Thursday, including the elimination of school calamity days.

School districts around the state of Ohio are given five days each year to help eliminate the number of days that would be missed due to weather events.

Starting in the fall of 2009, the number of calamity days will reduce to three and then two in the fall of 2010 and then one in the fall of 2011.

Rep. Clayton Luckie said it is a way to add class time without spending money.

Strickland’s plan also calls for adding 20 days to the already required 180 days.
