It is going to take more money for students to attend colleges around the country.

The average tuition at a four-year public college is up 6.5 percent this fall to slightly more than $7,000.

The report comes from The College Board. Its annual report also showed that tuition at community colleges also rose.

Most schools said they have been forced to pass on the cost of their financial problems.
