Topic: University of Dayton ETHOS Program Presentations on recent excursions to Honduras and La Paz Speaker: Will Wehner, Milena Pisani, Joe Schmidt, and Kyle Lowry Abstract: Joe Schmidt, William Wehner, and Milena Pisani spent ten weeks in central Honduras designing and constructing a “Model Home” for the non-profit, Ohio based organization Heart to Honduras (HTH). With support from the ETHOS program and the Dayton chapter of ASCE, the team helped local masons and laborers construct a 20’ x 18’ concrete block home for a family of 8! The students not only gained valuable engineering and project management skills, but also developed culturally, personally, and spiritually through extreme cultural immersion. Kyle Lowry spent the summer in La Paz and will speak about the company, research, goals, and results of his work.
