  • Miami Heat forward Mike Miller is auctioning his oceanfront Pompano Beach, Fla., house to the highest bidder after listing it for nearly $9 million.

  • Platinum Luxury Auctions is handling the auction, which is scheduled for June 30.
  • The house has a climate-controlled cigar and wine room, an elevator and a game parlor.
  • Outside the house is a 2,700-square-foot finished outdoor area, including a swimming pool bar and other features for entertaining.
  • Miller has dealt with significant injuries during his time with the Heat and played through intense back and foot problems this season, but says his decision to sell is not tied to his basketball future.
  • Heat President Pat Riley said Thursday night the team has no plans to use its amnesty provision on Miller, who has three years and $18.6 million left on his contract.
  • Miller said he's looking forward to shorter commute to work at AmericanAirlines Arena, which is about 40 minutes south of the home.

  • The house has plenty of selling points — 12-foot mahogany doors, marble ceilings, a cigar and wine room, a swim-up bar and, naturally, a basketball setup in the driveway.
  • The fact that someone will be buying the house from an NBA champion might make it a bit more attractive.

  • There's no minimum price set to start the auction, which for most people would seem like a risk instead of a benefit.
