A look back at the cast of Star Wars from their movie premieres to today.

 
  • It spent a whopping 16 weeks as the top movie in the nation, and it's still the all-time top-grossing movies. The success of its cast is a little less stellar, some have become Hollywood mega-stars, others are now out of the business entirely.
  • Henry Thomas played the role of Elliott. He was 11 when the movie was released and it was only his second film.
  • Now in his 40's, Thomas has gone on to a successful movie career. He's been in 40 films, featured in hits such as Legends of the Fall & Gangs of New York. Pictured: Thomas in 2011's 'The Legend of Hell's Gate'.
  • Drew Barrymore played Elliott's younger sister 'Gertie' and was just seven-years-old when the movie hit theaters.
  • Barrymore made headlines for her troubled adolescence. But she's since turned her life around to become one of Hollywood's biggest stars.

  • Dee Wallace played Elliott's overwhelmed mother 'Mary' in the 1982 classic. Before ET, Wallace had starred in the horror classics The Howling & The Hills Have Eyes.
