Does The Gardasil Vaccine Do More Harm Than Good?

DAYTON, Ohio -- Some parents are saying a drug designed to protect their teenage daughters, has damaging side effects.The Gardasil vaccine is supposed to protect girls from cervical cancer.However, one mother said the vaccine caused her daugther to break out in a rush, have joint pain, and resulted in an auto-immune disease. Matia White said, "She's never been sick. She's never been in the hospital - nothing until the Gardasil shot."A tracking system shows there have been nearly 10,000 reports of side effects from the drug.Merck, the manufacturer of Gardasil said that most of the eight million girls who have received the vaccine have had no problems.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said they are working on a study right now to determine if there are dangerous side effects from the drug.
