DAYTON, Ohio -- Experts say diabetes education is the key for millions of people living with the disease, but in Ohio, many insurance plans won't pay for it.But there is hope and help, all because of a local woman's battle to save her own son. Jean Bull, a longtime registered nurse, lost her son to diabetes and she has vowed to make a difference so others won't have to suffer the same fate.Ohio is only one of 4 states that is not advocating for diabetes education. Many insurance companies won't pay for education and that's where the Bull Family Diabetes Center can help, even if the patient has no coverage.Monday, at NCR Country Club, News Center 7's Natasha Williams and many others, hit a few golf balls to help raise money for the Miami Valley Foundation which helps the Bull Family Diabetes Center.Jean Bull said, "If we can save one person, it helps."
