H1N1 Contributes To Deputy’s Death

EATON, Ohio -- The Preble County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday night the death of Capt. Michael Thornsberry who is a 15-year veteran of the department.Thornsberry, 38, fell ill on or around Oct. 20 with what was believed to be pneumonia. In the days that followed, Thornsberry condition worsened, and on Oct. 25 he was taken to Reid Hospital in Richmond.Later in the day, Thornsberry was taken by air care to Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis.In the weeks that followed admission to the hospital, Thornsberry was diagnosed with both viral and bacterial pneumonia as well as the H1N1 virus.Thornsberry is survived by his wife, Michelle, and daughters Faith and Ally Grace.Information on services will be announced in the coming days.
