Montgomery Co. Offers New H1N1 Clinic

DAYTON, Ohio -- Public Health - Dayton and Montgomery County will hold another free H1N1 clinic that includes all the targeted groups as listed by the CDC.The clinic will be held at Hara Arena on Shiloh Springs Road in Trotwood on Nov. 12 from 1-5 p.m. Both the nasal spray and shot form will be available.The groups include:
* pregnant women
* persons who live with or care for infants under 6 months old (includes parents, siblings, and daycare providers)
* health care and emergency medical services personnel
* people aged 6 months through 24 years old
* people aged 25 through 64 years old who have chronic medical conditions such as lung or heart disease, diabetes, or other immuno-compromised conditions that put them at higher risk for influenza-related complications.Participants will be required to to complete a flu vaccination consent form. The form is available for download at www.phdmc.org and will also be available at the clinic.The consent forms were available at local libraries in Montgomery County.Tips For Standing In Line At The Clinics:
The clinics usually results in long lines, sometimes lasting for hours. Montgomery County Health Commissioner Jim Gross said, "While it may be difficult to wait in line, especially will small children, it is certainly necessary to get the children protected."If you are going to stand in line, you may wish to bring some of the following:
* Toys, battery-powered games or books
* A folding chair
* Healthy Snacks * Bottled Water
* Tissues
* Comfortable Shoes
