New Worries Over Anti-Depressants
Anti-depressants are a multi-billion dollar a year industry.
However, new worries over their use by children is causing both the government and patients to look at how they use it.
Tens of thousands of Americans are depressed and anxious.
More than 100 million prescriptions of anti-depressants were written last year.
Now, the FDA says children need to use the drugs less often because studies show some of the anti-depressants like Paxil can make some children suicidal or give them suicidal tendencies.
