RICHMOND, Indiana -- A local solider has been killed while serving in Iraq.

Spc. Johnathon Alan Lahmann, 21, of Richmond, Ind., died on Monday.

Officials at the Pentagon said he was killed when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle.

Lahmann’s family said they were told it was a suicide bombing. He was a 2004 graduate of Richmond High School.
