WPAFB, Ohio -- Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base conducted a semiannual training session Friday for base firefighters.

The exercise took place at the Aircraft Firefighting Training Facility on the north side of the base runway.

The facility, which resembles a cargo aircraft, used an environmentally responsible propane and recycled water system to allow for realistic training without damaging the ecosystem.

Officials engulfed a mock aircraft in flames and allowed firefighters to practice a variety of interior and exterior rescue and fire control techniques.
