Bridal Shop Owner: ‘Brides Be Patient’

Posted: 11:39 am EDT July 9, 2009Updated: 11:49 am EDT July 9, 2009

The owner of SharNett’s Bridal in Miamisburg contacted News Center 7 on Thursday morning and said that she is now contacting all customers in order to deliver dresses to an undisclosed location.

The call to News Center 7 came after two days of e-mails and calls to the WHIO newsroom from upset brides-to-be who found a note on the door of the business, stating that the store was closing due to the bad economy.

Many of the upset brides who had paid for dresses met Wednesday night to file police reports and to stop payment on their credit cards.

The owner of SharNett’s, Sharon Arnett, said that at least one bride-to-be that was at the meeting has now received her dress.

Arnett said she is asking the brides to be patient. She said she is making phone calls in order of priority, according to wedding dates.

The Better Business Bureau said it has already taken nearly a dozen complaints.
