Window Washer Critically Injured After 3-Story Fall

MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- A local window washer is fighting for his life after falling three stories when his equipment malfunctioned.The incident happened around 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Newmark Corporate Center in Miami Township. The center is located off Route 741 where a mirrored glass building sits and was where 23-year-old Cory Bailey fell more than 60 feet to the ground.Rescue workers arrived and found Bailey on the ground with the scaffolding on top of him.The wheels on the scaffolding are designed to roll across the flat deck of the roof as the green arms stick out with the window washer attached to them.Southtown Professional Window Cleaning has worked on the building for 15 years, and this was the first accident of its kind.Bailey was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight and is listed in critical condition.Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigation.
