Derek Farmer's Law License Suspended For 1 Year

DAYTON, Ohio -- A controversial attorney is losing his license to practice law for at least one year, and faces another year of probation.The State Supreme Court found that Derek Farmer mishandled cases for several clients and overcharged them.Farmer was at the center of controversy in Dayton earlier this year. He was invited to speak at an event to talk about turning his life around.When Farmer was a teenager, he was involved in a robbery that resulted in the deaths of a Dayton police officer and another man. Farmer became an attorney after serving time in prison.
