FDA Approves Bird Flu Vaccine For Humans

XENIA, OHIO -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced the first approval in the United States of a vaccine for humans against the H5N1 influenza virus, commonly known as the avian or bird flu.The Greene County Combined Health commissioner, Mark McDonnell said there is not enough for everyone. As a result the vaccine will be stockpiled in eight Center for Disease Control facilities throughout the United States and handed out only as needed.McDonnell encourages all families to have a pandemic flu plan.For more information click here: www.gcchd.gov
