DAYTON, Ohio -- Police in Dayton said officers responded to reports of shots being fired, and found a teenager who had been shot in the head.

The shooting happened early Thursday morning on Prescott Avenue. Officers said the victim, 19-year-old Joshua Bland, was found outside the apartment complex.

Police said officers brought in a K-9, hoping to track the shooter, but they did not find that person.

Investigators are talking with two of the victim’s friends, hoping to identify the shooter. Bland is listed in critical condition at a local hospital.
