Dayton Home Condemned After 50 Cats Found On Property

DAYTON, Ohio -- Police in Dayton condemned a house after more than 50 cats were found roaming the property.The house is located on Oberer Drive and was boarded up, forcing the family who lives there to move out. Police said the conditions inside the home were short of deplorable.On the property there were broken down bikes, junk cars, bags of trash and several cats. Police, housing officials and Animal Control were brought in to collect the cats and to take notes about the property.Inspectors, dressed in boots and protective suits, went inside the house and said that the house needed to be condemned. Animal Control officers said it was condemned in part because of all of the stray cats roaming around.The daughter of the 84-year-old woman who lives there said the unexpected visits were unfair to he mom and her beloved pets.Police said this is not first time officers have been to the home. The family was given notice to clean up the property before Tuesday.Authorities said the property wasn’t cleaned up so now they are forced to move.
