COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio’s investment scandal investigation netted another criminal conviction Thursday.This time it was a former Cleveland power broker who was a member of the state Bureau of Workers Compensation Oversight Commission.George Forbes pleaded guilty in a Columbus court to filing inaccurate financial disclosure reports with the state.Forbes also pleaded no contest and was convicted of two counts of improperly receiving gifts of meals and airplane flights from two investment marketers seeking business from the state.Under a plea agreement, Forbes must pay a $12,000 fine and perform 60 hours of community service.Forbes, a former City Council president in Cleveland, became the 20th person charged in the state investment scandal.Among those charged in the scandal is Tom Noe, the Toledo coin dealer who ran an investment fund for the Bureau of Workers Compensation that poured $50 million into rare coins and collectables.Noe is serving time in a federal prison for an unrelated crime.Jim.otte@whiotv.com
