RIVERSIDE, Ohio -- Officials with the Department of Defense said a Marine from Riverside has been killed in Iraq.

Authorities said Cpl. Derek Dixon, 20, died Tuesday while conducting combat operations in the Anbar Province.

Dixon had been based at Camp LaJeune in North Carolina. He joined the Marines in July 2004 and was promoted to corporal a few months ago.
