Richmond Closer To Hosting Presidential Debate

RICHMOND, Indiana -- The city of Richmond, Ind., may be one step closer to hosting a presidential debate.Two representatives of the Commission on Presidential Debates will visit Richmond on July 18.They will visit the Richmond Civic Hall Performing Arts Center as well as look at security procedures.In March, Richmond and Wayne County submitted a bid to be one of four locations attempting to host one of the presidential or vice-presidential debates in 2008.According to Wayne County officials, the debate could bring as much as $30 million for the Richmond area.
