WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. -- For the second time in as many nights, a plane has landed on a Wisconsin highway, reported WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wis.A 1946 Luscomb 8A aircraft "reported serious mechanical difficulties" and was forced to make an emergency landing on Highway 59, between highways Z and N in the town of Eagle shortly after 7 p.m. Monday, according to a statement released by the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.The plane was on the shoulder of the roadway and was not blocking traffic, deputies said.The 49-year-old pilot and his son, of Hampshire, Ill., were returning home after visiting Oshkosh's EAA AirVenture.No injuries were reported, Detective Steve Pederson said in the statement.The Federal Aviation Administration was notified, and the incident is being investigated.On Sunday night, a World War II-era plane made an emergency landing on U.S. Highway 41 near the Fond du Lac County airport, reported WISN-TV in Milwaukee, Wis., the television station reported.
Another Plane Lands In Swamp
On Monday evening, a small plane also landed in a swamp in the town of Burlington in Racine County.Police said the pilot was taken to the hospital with a few bumps and bruises.
