Troy Couple Hospitalized With CO Poisoning

TROY, Ohio -- Authorities said a couple in Troy were taken by Careflight to a local hospital after they were overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning.Medics said when they arrived at the scene, the couple was in bad shape. The incident happened at a home on North Cedar Street around 2 a.m.Investigators said the couple was flown to Kettering Medical Center for treatment. At this time, they are listed in critical condition.The couple was identified as 41-year-old Lynette Clemons and 42-year-old Tom Cantrell.Police said the source of the carbon monoxide was a generator that was running in the basement of the home to supply the house with electricity. Official said the couple had been without electricity for several days.Officials said carbon monoxide is colorless, odorless and is highly poisonous.Police said the man who lived in the home woke up feeling ill and went to a neighbor’s home for help.
