The three children of Christy Winans of Greeville were remembered Saturday afternoon as loving kisses, getting hugs and being with people.

A memorial service was held at the New Life Pentecostals Church of Greenville, filled with family, friends, classmates and strangers. Many of the family members were wearing white T-shirts with the pictures of Kayla, Je'Shawn and Jasmine. The children attended Sunday school at the church.

A friend of Christy Winans read a letter written to the children by their mom apologizing for not being the "perfect mother" and asked for the children's forgiveness.

The Rev. William Zink I, pastor of the New Life Church, said from the pulpit, "As soon as these children breathed their last breath, they went into the arms of God."

Funeral services for the other two victims, Chanan Palmer, 31, and daughter, Kaysha Minnich, 8, will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Zechar-Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville. Calling hours will be from 9 to 11 a.m.

All five were killed last Sunday morning in a fire in their side of a duplex at 112 Montgomery St. in Greenville.

A 10-year-old boy was charged on Friday with aggravated arson and five counts of murder. He is being held in the West Central Juvenile Detention Facility near Troy.
