Police: Insulin Stolen From Beavercreek Medicine Shop

Posted: 12:24 pm EST February 29, 2008

Police in Beavercreek said a couple of thieves used a sledge hammer to break into a local pharmacy.

The burglary happened at the Medicine Shop on Dayton-Xenia Road, and what has authorities baffled is what the thieves took.

Police said the thieves stole insulin. It happened a week ago and was caught on tape.

Investigators said the video shows the thieves using a sledge hammer to break the front door of the business. The thieves then climb inside through broken glass, and head to a refrigerator and takes insulin.

Police said the other thief grabs a few bottles of Vicodin. Officers said the two were in the store for about two minutes.

Authorities said the business was also broken into during the Popcorn Festival, when insulin was also taken. Police said they believe the two burglaries are connected.

If you have any information on the identity of the two thieves, contact Beavercreek police at 320-7393.
