TROY, Ohio -- A former high school assistant band director accepted a plea bargain instead of taking his sexual battery case to trial.Instead of letting a jury decide his fate, 29-year-old Anthony Spahr took the plea bargain. The prosecutor reduced the two counts of sexual battery to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor. Spahr pleaded no contest and was found guilty by Judge Jeffrey Welbaum.Spahr was scheduled to go to a jury trial on Tuesday, which was expected to last three days.Judge Welbaum ordered a pre-sentence investigation. Spahr could get a maximum of 18 months on each charge, but could get probation. He will become a Tier 2 registered sex offender, which means that he will have to register with the sheriff of the county where he lives for the next 25 years.
