SPRINGFIELD, Ohio -- Jurors in the James Ferguson trial heard from children testifying their father abused and tortured them.

Ferguson, 48, is on trial and faces 30 counts of felonious assault, child endangering and permitting child abuse.

Prosecutors said he and his wife used extreme forms of punishment on five adopted children. They said the punishments included hitting the children with hammers and belts until they bled, forcing them to eat feces and burning them with irons.
