UPDATED: 12:40 pm EDT April 22, 2008

Jurors in Greene County are listening to closing arguments in an aggravated murder case.

Sandra Matthews, 54, is on trail, accused of killing her 67-year-old roommate. The prosecutors said Matthews used an ice pick to kill Otte Marie Thomlinson.

The prosecution is expected to have the last word before the jurors start to deliberate. Early Tuesday morning, both sides spoke and argued its case, now the state is speaking again.

Prosecutors said Matthews rented a room from the victim. They said because she had no job or money, she was to work off her rent with cleaning.

The prosecution said Thomlinson was upset that the work had not been done, and that Matthews was so made that she stabbed the victim with an ice pick. The defense said another roommate is the person who committed the crime.

The jury is expected to get the case by 1 p.m.
