Death Of Elderly Sidney Man Said To Be Suspicious

SIDNEY, Ohio -- Police in Sidney are investigating a suspicious death after an elderly man was found in his condominium on Tuesday.Officers also said there were some car break-ins in the same neighborhood overnight. They are looking to see if the man’s death and the break-ins are connected.More than a dozen officers and evidence technicians swarmed the condo that is located on Independence Court at the north end of Sidney.Officers spread out in the neighborhood looking for evidence. They also called in a city crew to pop storm sewer lids, searching for anything suspicious.Investigators said several cars were impounded that were broken into overnight. Police said they are looking for fingerprints. In several cars, the steering column was peeled back.The name of the victim is 80-year-old Paul Wilt.
