HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Police in Huber Heights said a child ran to school, instead of away from it, Tuesday afternoon.Teachers from Kitty Hawk Elementary on Harshmanville Road called police after finding a 3-year-old girl who wasn't a student. Police said the child wandered away from home and began playing with preschool children who were outside at recess."When they collected all the kids up to go back inside they had an extra kid," said Lt. Gerry Gustin. "We started combing the neighborhood and pretty soon we came across a frantic older sibling. Apparently the child had wandered away from the house."Gustin said the girl walked about 200 yards to play with the preschool students."She's fine, not injured," he said. "Apparently she had a wonderful time playing out here, and a big thank you to the school for hanging on to her."Authorities said the child's other sibling may face a charge of child endangering. The 3-year-old was released into the custody of her parents.
