Man Assaulted With Pencil In Clark Co. Jail

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio -- An assault with a pencil left a Clark County Jail inmate with dozens of injuries, police said.Anthony Green said he was sleeping when suddenly he was being stabbed with a pencil that inflicted almost 40 wounds inside his cell.Derek Nelson, 20, of Dayton was accused of attacking Green, police said.Nelson pleaded not guilty Thursday morning to felonious assault and possession of a deadly weapon while under detention.Nelson was in jail awaiting trial on charges of burglary, felonious assault and tampering with evidence, police said.Police said Nelson’s bond was originally $20,000 and because of the new charges it is up to $45,000.
