POSTED: 5:53 pm EDT May 16, 2008
UPDATED: 7:58 pm EDT May 16, 2008

Sue Campbell was working at one of the cash registers at Estridge Market in Dayton, when a masked man came into the store and held a gun to her head, she said.

“The man came in with a gun and robbed us,” said cashier Sue Applebee. She shrieked, “It was scary. If somebody pointed a gun at you, wouldn’t you be scared?”

The two cashiers handed over the cash and cigarettes that he demanded and then ran to the back of the store for help.

They tell News Center 7 that the meat cutter, who worked in the back of the store, ran out after the robber with a rifle in hand.

Dayton police responded to the scene, but they were unable to find the robber. They believe he got away in a car.

The robber is described as a young man, wearing a mask and a hooded sweatshirt.

Call the Dayton Police with any information.
