Officials at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base said a base contractor was injured while carrying drywall on a 16 foot scaffold.

Col. Colleen Ryan, 88th, ABW/CC said the incident happened Monday morning at Building 268.

The contractor did not fall from the scaffold, but caught himself as he slipped off the scaffold.

Ryan said, “The safety of our base personnel is our highest priority.”

Firefighters responded to the scene and managed to get the individual down without the use of a ladder.

The contractor was transported to Miami Valley Hospital.
