Dayton Man Captured After Nationwide Manhunt

DAYTON, Ohio -- Federal authorities said they have arrested a man in California who was wanted in connection with an assault in Dayton.Robert McGhee was wanted in connection with a drug deal that went wrong in the 4300 block of Riverside Drive on April 24. He was wanted for felonious assault and aggravated robbery.Investigators said McGhee attempted to rob the victim during the drug deal and allegedly shot the victim in the chest. They said the victim was left paralyzed as a result of the shooting.Deputies in Montgomery County contacted the United States Marshals Service and requested assistance in locating and capturing McGhee.Authorities said McGhee and his girlfriend was tracked through multiple state, and was finally located in Los Angeles around 5 p.m. Tuesday.Marshals said McGhee’s vehicle was located outside a relative’s house in Woodland Hills. They said around surveillance was set up and around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, McGhee was observed outside the house.He was apprehended with the assistance of the Los Angeles Police Department. He was taken into custody and transported to the Los Angeles County Jail, where he is waiting extradition back to Ohio.
