One Dies In Chemical Spill In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Officials in Middletown said one man is dead after a chemical spill at the United Waste Water Services Plant on Lefferson Road.The spill happened at approximately 10 a.m. According to officials, Tom Rogers, of Cincinnati, was exposed to sodium hydrous sulfite. He died later at the hospital.Haz-mat crews blocked off the area around the building until the spill was contained, officials said.Two Middletown firefighters were taken to the hospital for inhalation, but they were later released.
