WILMINGTON, Ohio -- In an effort to raise awareness of the plight of people who may lose their jobs in the DHL deal, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown launched a new website Thursday. The site features a video from Brown, in which he tells viewers a task force has been formed, comprised of federal, state and local representatives.“I am working with my Congressional colleagues to make sure the federal government does everything it can in its power to prevent the loss of thousands of jobs in Ohio,” Brown said.DHL had announced earlier plans to discontinue use of ABX and ASTAR employees for its air freight package operations in Wilmington and instead contract out the operation to rival UPS.On the website, Brown asks families affected by the DHL situation to contact his office and share their story.“I want to ensure that your voices are heard and that you have the most up to date information on the ongoing situation,” Brown said. The site also includes a timeline of bipartisan efforts to help Wilmington area workers keep their jobs.Brown said the website would help show DHL’s parent company and the Bush administration that the business decisions being made are about more than money and will impact the lives of thousands of people.Click here to see Brown’s DHL Website.Jim.otte@whiotv.com
