RIVERSIDE, Ohio -- Authorities said a man was seriously injured Friday morning when fireworks exploded inside his car while he was packed outside a bar in Riverside.

The incident happened around 3 a.m. outside The Christy Club on Valley Street. Employees who were closing the bar said they heard a loud noise and ran outside.

Police said the blast was so strong that it blew out all the windows in the car. The 46-year old victim was rushed to the hospital after bar employees called 911.

Bartenders said the man had been inside the club earlier in the evening.
