Police in Riverside said an officer spotted smoke on Radio Road near Smithville Road around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

The officer managed to track down the source of smoke and found a 55-gallon drum with smoke coming from it.

The officer then called a hazmat team to come to the scene. The drum was filled with used shop rags from a nearby business.

Officials said the rags caught fire, causing the smoke.
