DARKE COUNTY, Ohio -- The Darke County Fair kicked off Friday, Aug. 15, and brought thousands of people to Greenville to the "greatest county fair on earth."

Visitors found lots of entertainment, displays, vendors and great food concessions.

The children also enjoyed seeing all the animals including pigs, cattle, chickens, horses and dogs.

News Center 7 spoke with some parents at the fair and they said they enjoy the food, games and mostly spending time with family and friends.

On Aug. 17, REO Speedwagon performed in front of the grandstand before more than 4,500 people.

The fair ended on Saturday, Aug. 23.
