Freshmen Arrive At Two Miami Valley Universities

DAYTON, Ohio -- It's been an exciting day for thousands of Miami University students.Over 3,000 new students and their parents packed the campus Thursday morning for freshmen move-in day.The class of 2012 has already surpassed the university's goals. This year's class has over 3,00 students which is over 200 more than the original target.Upper-classmen move in Saturday with classes starting at Miami on Monday.Wittenberg University freshmen in Springfield also moved into their dorms Thursday.Wittenberg is welcoming 557 freshmen from 29 states and 20 counties.Freshman Emily Kula said, "It's been really fun. I met my roommate, she's from Connecticut so I got to meet her. I think we're going to get along really well."Courtnay Dollinger, another freshman said, "I really hope to learn a lot. I hope to make it through calculus, study, meet a lot of new people, study and have fun."This year's freshman class at Wittenberg includes 18 high school valedictorians.
