DAYTON, Ohio -- A Dayton man wanted in connection with his wife’s disappearance was shot and killed by police in Florida.

Officers in Melbourne, Florida said 43-year-old Michael Hild ran away from them after a minor traffic accident. Hild shot at police officers and police shot back.

Dayton police said they wanted to question Hild in the disappearance of his wife, 37-year-old Angela Hild.

She was last seen on Thursday dropping off the couple’s 5-year-old son at school, police said.

Angela Hild is still missing.
