COVINGTON, Ohio -- Police in Covington in Miami County said a couple has been charged in connection with the death of their baby.

Police said Matthew Johnson and Danele Johnson were taken into custody on Thursday afternoon at their home on Wendrick Street in Covington.

Investigators said Danele Johnson was arrested on a charge of involuntary manslaughter, while the child’s father, Matthew Johnson, was charged with child endangering.

According to police, the baby, Naithin Allin-Mykel Johnson, died on Aug. 23, 2008.

The cause of death remains under investigation.
