Barns, House Burn In $200,000 Saturday Night Blaze In Darke County

DARKE COUNTY, Ohio -- Firefighters from New Madison continue their investigation into the cause of a fire late Saturday night at 299 State Route 726.One barn was leveled by the fire, a second barn was scorched, a camping trailer was heavily damaged and some vinyl siding on the house, located near the Darke-Preble County line, melted.The fire started in a a barn loaded with hay according to New Madison Fire Department spokesman Delbert Braund. Losses estimated at $200,000, said Braund.Firefighters from seven fire departments from Darke and Preble counties answered the multi-alarm fire at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday. They included New Madison, Gettysburg, Arcanum, Liberty Township, Verona, West Manchester, and Eldorado.There are no reports of any injuries.Steve.Baker@WHIOTV.com
