Sunday, September 7, 2008 – updated: 12:47 am EDT September 8, 2008

Dozens of military aircraft forced to evacuate to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base last week because of Tropical Storm Hanna returned home on Sunday.

More than 100 jets and planes flew to WPAFB during the week to wait out the storm. More than 30 headed home on Sunday.

The aircraft came from ten military bases located in Virginia, Florida, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Now military officials and residents are keeping a close eye on Hurricane Ike. The storm could hit Florida and that has prompted mandatory evacuations in some areas.
