Tuesday, October 7, 2008 – updated: 12:20 pm EDT October 7, 2008

Police in Oakwood are looking for two men who held up a woman at gunpoint in her home.

Officers said the incident happened last Thursday around 2 p.m. at a home on Thruston Avenue, while the woman’s husband was outside mowing the grass.

Residents in Oakwood said the story is being passed around like wildfire after the incident happened.

Police said the two men walked into the home, held a gun to the woman’s head, demanded money and jewelry.

After the woman gave the men the cash and her wedding bands, they casually walked out, got into a silver truck and left.

Authorities said the husband who was mowing the yard, watched the two men leave, thinking that they had been talking to his wife about magazine subscriptions.

The man walked into the house and found his wife crying after the alleged robbery.

Residents said they cannot believe that the robbery happened on such a quiet street.

Kristy Zeickel said, “It was pretty disturbing.”

According to police, officers managed to some fingerprints and hope to get a match. They are also putting together a composite picture of the suspects.
